What better way to get to know the rainforest than to go there for a couple of nights? The three-day jungle tour is very suitable for active travelers who want to experience the jungle from a deeper level and experience overnight stays in the jungle, as well as its “night life”. On the jungle tour, you get to experience the diverse nature of the ray forest surrounding Bukit Lawang over the course of three days. On a three-day jungle excursion, you get to explore deeper into the rainforest, where you have the chance to see orangutans and other wild animals. During the jungle tour, our guides will tell you basic information about the local plants, trees and insects.

WHAT TO BRING:

Suitable hiking shoes or sports shoes, 2-3 water bottles 1.5l (more water is available at the accommodation), insect repellent, sunscreen, daypack, long socks against leeches, raincoat, swimwear, day backpack 30-40l, towel, toilet paper, sandals, flashlight, two change of clothes, long-sleeved shirt, long pants and hygiene items.

JUNGLE TREK DESCRIPTION:

DAY 1
The first day of our jungle excursion starts at 9 a.m. from our accommodation at Jungle River House and ends there the next day at 4 p.m. at the latest. Our English-speaking guide will lead you on a hike into the jungle of the national park area. During the jungle trek, we take breaks in suitable places and enjoy a snack consisting of local food and fruit in the middle of the rainforest for lunch. During the trip, you get to see and experience wildlife and nature and hear basic information about local plants and animals. In the afternoon we arrive at the campsite where we spend the night. Near the campsite, you can relax and swim and enjoy the diverse nature of the rainforest. In the evening, our staff prepares a delicious buffet meal for you with a menu consisting of Indonesian dishes. After dinner, you will have time to explore the local “nightlife” while listening and feeling the atmosphere of the rainforest. In the evening, we have also reserved games and games for you to pass the time.

DAY 2
The next morning you wake up to the sounds of the jungle and you can feel the jungle waking up. After breakfast, we continue the jungle tour for about 5 hours, eating a light lunch and snacking on fruit during the hike. In the afternoon we arrive at a new camping area where we spend the night. Near the campsite, you can relax and swim and enjoy the diverse nature of the rainforest. In the evening, our staff prepares a delicious buffet meal for you with a menu consisting of Indonesian dishes. After dinner, you will have time to explore the local “nightlife” while listening and feeling the atmosphere of the rainforest. In the evening, we have also reserved games and games for you to pass the time.

DAY 3
The next morning you wake up to the sounds of the jungle. After breakfast, we continue the jungle tour for a few more hours, eating a light lunch. After lunch, we head back to Bukit Lawang, depending on your choice, either walking or rafting. At the end of the trip, we return to our accommodation at Jungle River House.

In the National Park, we always follow its rules: Do not leave trash or food in the rainforest. Do not touch or feed wild animals. Don’t make a fuss.
